Baby Girl's Nursery + Name Reveal
Updated: Oct 4, 2020
Soooooooo.... I couldn't hold it in any l o n g e r.
Yes, I've made it this far - - a day before she enters this world - - but when I decided to do a blog post on the nursery reveal I knew I wanted to share this SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT.
Those closest to Josh and I, including friends and family, have known her name for a while but we chose to keep it off of social media until now because we wanted to keep it private. Especially out of fear from other's criticism and negative opinions. In the end, WE love her name and that's all that matters.
Keep reading below for the nursery & name reveal...
This room was a labor of love... pun intended. Shopping around and decorating for the arrival of your little human can be so exciting and fun, but also very frustrating. Before I started buying decor and furniture I need to decide on a nursery theme... animal, boho, modern, minimalist, pretty in pink etc... We ended up going with a neutral toned/natural them with pops of blush pinks.
When I started I knew I wanted some sort of accent wall, however, I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to commit with paint design or wallpaper. Then I discovered floral decals. Wow, did this make everything easier! I found many options including some from Restoration Hardware that was 4x as expensive as the ones I ended up going with. The quality is amazing and the application was simple. No need to worry about making a mistake because they are very easy to adjust and move. By using decals I could later on remove or replace with other designs as she grows up and tastes change.

After the accent wall was decided on, I started looking for furniture (crib and changing table). I wanted a crib that could convert and grow with her for several years. My mom took me shopping and we came across this 4-1 convertible crib, eventually being able to transform into a full size bed. Going along with the neutral toned them I chose a white washed set to keep it simple and allow for colorful accents elsewhere. I decided on the changing table from Pottery Barn Kids because it will serve as a dresser for her as she gets older and requires more room for clothes. Both were gifts from my mom, grandma is already spoiling little Blakely. While I was at PB Kids, I checked out their gliders. My amazingly, generous MIL told me to pick out any glider I wanted and purchased it for me as a gift. The recliner we chose is multi-functional and classified as a recliner, rocker and glider. When picking it out I had to account for how high the back support would be considering Josh is 6'4 and I wanted him to be comfortable without his head hanging over the end, especially for all the nights he's getting up and taking care of her ;)

Now that baby's little haven is finally finished it brings tears to my eyes. I am so happy with how everything turned out and I cannot wait to bring baby girl home to it. I find myself spending time in her room everyday. Whether it's to sit in the glider where I'll soon be feeding her, adding more wardrobe to her growing closet or just to soak it all in. I can't keep myself out. I still have a few more details I will probably end up adding to the walls (and I will later update) but as of now we are so happy with how everything came together.

I will also share the organizational details of her changing table in a separate blog post. Be sure to keep an eye out for that in the future!
In regard to the smaller details or decor I will link everything in lists at the end of the post. The paint color in her nursery (as well as the rest of the house) is Sherwin William Repose Grey.
Thank you so much for following along this journey with us. We are beyond thankful for your continuous love and support.
We cannot wait to meet our sweet Blakely Rose!
